Like the 501-9 shade the 501-11 has also been reproduced. The reproductions are very similar to the original shade but lack the detail in the design within each panel. The white dome will also appear more "pearly white" instead of the flat white of the original. Also the reproduction shades are heavier in weight than the originals so if the shade seems rather heavy it could be a reproduction. The white paint on the reproductions may appear grainy or speckled since the paint is sprayed on the glass. Some reproductions were also offered in colors other than the original white. Pay attention to the details on the dome of the shade. The paint should be smooth and even in application.
